Teen pregnancy in Ontario has experienced a dramatic decline over the last three decades, according to data spanning from 1991 to 2023. In 1991, there were 7,629 live births to teen mothers, representing 5.0% of all live births in the province. By 2023, that number had dropped to 1,191 teen births, or just 0.9% of total births — a remarkable 84% decrease in absolute numbers and an 82% decline in the share of total births.
