Power BI: How to Disconnect Visualizations from Page Filters and Slicers

In the report view, when you have multiple visuals on the same sheet, sometimes there is a need to have some visuals that are somewhat fixed and do not change when the filters are changed. This is especially useful when there are multiple filters and slicers to cut the data. Examples would include benchmark values etc.

This is how to disconnect a visual from the filter/slicer:

  1. Select the filter/slicer that you want to be disconnected from the visual.
  2. From the Format option, select Edit interactions. All the visuals on the sheet will show a set of icon (see gif below).
  3. On the visual you want disconnected, select the circle icon to disconnect it. If you want it connected again, select the chart with filter icon.
