Alberta

Alberta is a western province in Canada, bordered by British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, with the U.S. state of Montana to its south. Its capital city is Edmonton, located along the North Saskatchewan River. As of 2021, Alberta’s population stood at 4,262,635 people, making it the fourth most populous province in the country. The province’s economy is strong and resource‐driven: in 2024, Alberta had a GDP per capita of about C$71,639. Albertans increasingly live in urban centres—over 82% of the population resided in census metropolitan areas in 2021. With robust immigration and interprovincial migration, Alberta continues to be one of Canada’s fastest growing provinces in recent years.
